数学与统计学院始建追溯于1956年，是最具活力、最具发展潜力的学院之一。设有数学与应用数学、应用统计学两个本科专业，数学一级硕士学位点和应用统计专业硕士学位点，并面向全校开设数学、统计学公共必修和选修课程。

学院师资力量雄厚。现有教职工88人，在校研究生32人，本科生726人。教师队伍中有教授10人、副教授29人，硕士研究生导师43人，具有博士学位教师62人，全国优秀教师1人，河南省学术技术带头人1人，河南省高层次人才1人，河南省优秀教师2人，河南省高等学校教学名师2人，河南省文明教师1人，河南省教育厅学术技术带头人4人，河南省高等学校青年骨干教师5人。

学院办学条件优越。数学学科是河南省重点学科，是学校博士学位授权立项建设重点培育点，数学与应用数学专业为河南省一流本科专业建设点。依托学院建设有河南省应用数学中心、河南省粮食粮情大数据发展创新实验室两个省级科研平台，设有4个前沿交叉研究方向，旨在进一步加强河南省数学科学研究，推进数学的交叉应用。另有郑州市应用数学和粮食安全重点实验室、河南工业大学数学建模实验室、统计实验室等教学科研平台，为学院发展提供有力保障。

学院科研成果丰硕。现有多个引领学科发展、特色鲜明的研究方向，建有多个科研创新培育团队。近五年，承担国家级科研项目20多项，省部级科研项目20多项，科研到账经费600多万元，发表学术论文400多篇，其中SCI、EI收录近200篇。

学院培养理念先进。明确提出“夯实基础，拓宽视野，强化应用，突出特色”的教学理念和“夯实基础知识，强化考研意识，提高综合素质，培养高尚人格”的育人理念，致力于把学生培养成能在数学及相关领域从事科学研究或在科技、 教育、信息产业、经济金融、行政管理等部门从事研究、教学、程序开发和量化管理等工作或继续攻读研究生的高素质人才。坚持因材施教，注重学生个性化培养，开办创新实验班，为每名学生配备本科生导师，强化研究生培养，以竞赛引导学生进行科研训练，助力学术研究能力培养。

学院培养成效显著。鼓励和支持学生参加“挑战杯”、中国“互联网+”大学生创新创业大赛、“创青春”全国大学生创业大赛、全国大学生数学建模竞赛、全国大学生数学竞赛、统计建模大赛等学科和专业竞赛，成效显著。近五年，在全国各类数学建模竞赛中获得国际奖77项、国家奖3项、省级奖146项，数学学科竞赛获得国家奖2项、省级奖137项，市场调查与分析大赛获得国家奖1项、省部级4项，统计建模竞赛获得省级奖5项。学生考研录取率逐年提升，超过30%，其中一半以上被“双一流”建设高校录取。每年合作就业单位达100余家，学生就业前景广阔。

学院交流合作活跃。借鉴和引进国内外先进的教学与管理经验，鼓励和支持教师开展访学活动，积极开展对外交流与合作，已与国内外多所知名大学建立了良好的友好合作关系。

Overview of the School

The School of Mathematics and Statistics traces its origins back to 1956 and stands as one of the most dynamic and promising schools within the university. It offers two undergraduate programs: Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, and Applied Statistics. The school grants a first-level master's degree in Mathematics and a professional master's degree in Applied Statistics. Additionally, it provides compulsory and elective public courses in mathematics and statistics for the entire university.

The school boasts a strong and distinguished faculty. Currently, there are 88 faculty and staff members, 32 postgraduate students, and 726 undergraduate students. The teaching team comprises 10 professors and 29 associate professors. Among them, 43 serve as postgraduate supervisors, and 62 hold doctoral degrees. The faculty includes one National Outstanding Teacher, one Academic and Technical Leader of Henan Province, one High-level Talent of Henan Province, two Outstanding Teachers of Henan Province, two Teaching Masters of Henan Province Colleges and Universities, one Civilized Teacher of Henan Province, four Academic and Technical Leaders of Henan Provincial Department of Education, and five Young Backbone Teachers of Henan Province Colleges and Universities.

The school enjoys excellent facilities and conditions. Mathematics is a key discipline in Henan Province and a key cultivation point for the university's doctoral degree authorization project. The Mathematics and Applied Mathematics program is a provincial-level "First-class Undergraduate Program" construction site. The school hosts two provincial-level research platforms: the Henan Applied Mathematics Center and the Henan Grain Condition Big Data Development and Innovation Laboratory. It has established four interdisciplinary research directions aimed at further strengthening mathematical science research and promoting interdisciplinary applications in Henan Province. Other teaching and research platforms include the Zhengzhou Key Laboratory of Applied Mathematics and Food Security, the Henan University of Technology Mathematical Modeling Laboratory, and the Statistics Laboratory, providing strong support for the school's development.

The school has achieved fruitful scientific research results. It maintains several distinctive research directions leading disciplinary development and has built multiple scientific research innovation cultivation teams. In the past five years, the school has undertaken over 20 national-level and more than 20 provincial/ministerial-level research projects, with research funding exceeding 6 million yuan. Faculty have published over 400 academic papers, nearly 200 of which are indexed by SCI or EI.

The school upholds advanced educational philosophies. It explicitly adheres to the teaching philosophy of "consolidating foundations, broadening horizons, strengthening applications, and highlighting characteristics" and the educational philosophy of "consolidating foundational knowledge, strengthening postgraduate entrance examination awareness, improving comprehensive quality, and cultivating noble character." The school is committed to cultivating students into high-quality talents capable of engaging in scientific research in mathematics and related fields, or working in sectors such as technology, education, information technology, economics, finance, and administration in roles involving research, teaching, software development, quantitative management, etc., or pursuing further postgraduate studies. It adheres to individualized instruction, emphasizes personalized student development, offers innovative experimental classes, assigns an undergraduate tutor to each student, strengthens postgraduate training, and guides students in research training through competitions to foster academic research capabilities.

The school has achieved remarkable outcomes in talent cultivation. It encourages and supports student participation in disciplinary and professional competitions such as the "Challenge Cup," China "Internet Plus" College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, "Chuangqingchun" National College Students Entrepreneurship Competition, National College Students Mathematical Modeling Contest, National College Students Mathematics Competition, and Statistical Modeling Competitions, with significant results. In the past five years, students have won 77 international awards, 3 national awards, and 146 provincial awards in various mathematical modeling contests; 2 national awards and 137 provincial awards in mathematics subject competitions; 1 national award and 4 provincial/ministerial awards in Market Survey and Analysis Competitions; and 5 provincial awards in Statistical Modeling Competitions. The postgraduate admission rate for graduates has been increasing annually, exceeding 30%, with over half admitted to "Double First-Class" universities. The school collaborates with over 100 employers annually, ensuring broad employment prospects for students.

The school actively engages in exchanges and cooperation. It draws on and introduces advanced teaching and management experiences from domestic and international sources, encourages and supports faculty in visiting scholar activities, and actively conducts external exchanges and cooperation. It has established sound and friendly cooperative relationships with many renowned universities both in China and abroad.

In the new historical period, the school will align with the provincial "Ten Major Strategies" and the university's goal of building "Double First-Class" disciplines.
